Biography - Lorin Friesen
For Lorin, creating visual art comes by excitedly. His works speak the visual language of his life experiences, each with a spirituality for longevity. His concepts and subjects are each a product of relationships, of nature, fantasy, history and human nature to name a few.
In 1977, Lorin received his B.A. in Interior Architecture from Kansas State University. He then moved to Dallas, Texas founding Lorin Designs, crafting the finest custom furnishings to the design trade for over 20 years. He developed a clientele of the Dallas elite.
Not completely satisfied, he continued his journey towards art in sculpture, then portraiture painting in serene San Marcos, now at home in Austin, Texas. His works can be seen inside San Marcos City Hall and the historic Texas State Cemetery in Austin.
His Life Work is Texas based.
Lorin continues to perform as a Designer/ Artist and Fine Craftsman with all works of refined detail. He is currently developing "Flow Fence", a dynamic curving structure of lasting hardwoods clasped by metal castings, perfect for the hills of Austin that will soon be introduced to the world wide public.
